However, it is still unknown to which mechanism of social support contributes to this effect. Close relationships are considered to be fundamental need that influences human behavior. Having a strong interpersonal relationship is also one of the factors that help mitigate the thoughts of death since positive relationships is the sense of belonging, the belongingness hypothesis states that human beings have the need to create and sustain a strong, positive, and significant relationship with other people. Thus, this study focuses on determining whether or not the sense of belonging has a significant mediating effect on social support and death anxiety. The researchers used convenience sampling to collect data and have conducted an online survey which was posted on several social media platforms.
