Summary: | Intramuros Administration (IA), which manages Intramuros, sends out limited and inconsistent attraction information to their tourists through outdated collaterals, such as walking tour maps and brochures. On the other hand, they respond to tourists, inquiries and concerns through e-mail, phone calls, or personal communication. Using Leiper's tourist attraction systems model (1990), the group created a mobile application, Infomuros : Intramuros travel guide, and a walking travel guide, and a walking tour pamphlet, Getting around Intramuros to provide tourists of Intramuros with an enhanced travel experience. Base on their feedback, the mobile app and pamphlet were informative, clear, and portable. The proponents conclude that the interventions were effective tools for information exchange as it satisfied tourist needs. Furthermore, this study hope to contribute to the improvement of the tourism industry in the Philippines by encouraging others to learn more about the country's history and to further appreciate its culture and heritage. |
