Description
Summary:The CD Juke Box is a system that plays songs simultaneously to end the hassles of storing, retrieving, and handling numerous CDs with its jukebox-like 21-disc storage rack. The three main systems involved in the performance of its tasks are: the AutoLoader, the Storage and Retrieval System (S/R), and the Pick and Place System. The Auto Loader consists of a rack-and-pinion combination responsible for the y-axis movement. The S/R system, which moves along the x & y axes, consists of a lead screw, and a chain-and-sprocket hoisting system. The Pick and Place system consists of a fork bolted on a chain-and-sprocket combination for its z-axis movement. The main components responsible for initializing the different systems are: the computer, and the electronic circuits. The computer is used to choose a song, from a list of 210, to be played by the CD Juke Box.The electronic circuitry, consists of an interface card and a stepper motor driver circuit. The CD Juke Box consists of 4 stepper motors: (1) for the rack-and-pinion combination, (2) lead screw, (3) hoisting mechanism, (4) pick and place system. The CD Juke Box storage rack can hold a maximum of 21 compact discs, for a total of about 210 songs, which can be programmed-mixed as desired.
