Sazon, Eva Marie M. Tan, Liane Matthew L. Juvenile delinquents in the Philippines are shaped by poverty and destitution. While the Philippines has an established law as to how juvenile delinquents are to be handled, the provision stated in the law are not being implemented properly which leads to trauma and psychological suffering and in turn will affect the childs reintegration back to his or her community. This study aims to identify the levels of self-compassion and self-stigma and self-esteem of juvenile delinquents in the Philippines though answering the questions: (1) Is there a significant effect between self-stigma and self-esteem? (2) Does self-compassion moderate the relation between self-stigma and self-esteem? (3) Is there a significant interaction between self-compassion, self-esteem and self-stigma? The study followed a descriptive correlational design because the research aimed to establish self-compassion as a moderator of self-esteem and self-stigma. The sample consisted of 46 female children in conflict with the law. The researchers obtained information on the effect of self-compassion in self-stigma and self-esteem of juvenile delinquents through three scales: self-compassion scale, Rosenberg self-esteem scale, and the stigma perception scale. Results showed that there was a significant effect between self-stigma and self-esteem. Self-compassion ha a negative moderating effect in the relationship between self-stigma and self-esteem because of the lack of significance between the relationship of self-compassion, self-stigma and self-esteem. What was concluded in the study is that self-compassion does not have a significant relationship between self-stigma and self-esteem due to the lack of significance between the relationship of self-compassion and self-esteem. 2019-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8095 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Juvenile delinquents--Philippines Female juvenile delinquents--Philippines
