Water samples were collected from seven sampling stations. Different physico-chemical characteristics of water were analyzed. The results showed that pH readings ranged from 5.40 units to 8.90 units. Salinity values ranged from 0.0 mg/L to 0.2 mg/L. Conductivity readings ranged from 222 umhos to 700 umhos. Water temperature readings ranged from 20.5 centigrade to 39 centigrade. Dissolved oxygen content ranged from 3.50 mg/L to 13.85 mg/L. Limit of visibility values ranged from 13.0 cm to 62.3 cm. Nitrate concentrations ranged from 0.071 mg/L to 0.024 mg/L. Orthophosphate readings ranged from 0.0 mg/L to 0.039 mg/L. Climatological parameters namely: wind speed (mph), air temperature (C), light intensity (ft-candle), humidity (percent) and atmospheric pressure (mmHg) were also monitored.Fish survey of the lake was conducted during the months of May, June and July 1993. A total of six (6) species were collected during the sampling periods namely: Oreochromis niloticus. Hypophthalmicthys molitrix, Cyprinus carpio, Ctenogobius criniger, Trichogaster trichopterus and Pennahia macrophthalmus. Among the species caught Oreochromis niloticus (42.99 percent), Hypophthalmicthys molitrix (30.80 percent) and Ctenogobius criniger (12.17 percent) predominated. Macrobenthic invertebrates were determined during the months of July, October and November. Species composition and relative abundance of the macrobenthic invertebrates in the outlet and the inlet of the lake differed. Species belonging to the Class Gastropoda (98.81 percent) dominated the macrobenthic invertebrates collected at two different stations during the entire sampling period. Other species collected were Melanoides tuberculata, Melanoides granifera, Thiara scabra, Melanoides punctata, Vivipara burroughiana, Ampullaria sp., and Gammarus pulex. 1994-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8124 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Lakes--Philippines--Tarlac Limnology--Philippines--Tarlac Water chemistry Lahars
