In order to do this, a dictionary of ordinary words and computer terminologies is maintained and checking of the grammar is based on production rules that represents a large subject of the English language. A study of the file formats of different word processors (WordStar 4.0, Microsoft Word 4.0, WordPerfect 5.1) is done to preserve the original format of the input files. A series of activities were done to realize this project. In the initial stages, research and consultations with the thesis adviser bore the brunt of our activities. Upon finishing the research stage, brainstorming and the designing of the project took place. In this stage, the project was divided into separate modules and each member was given the task to take care of his individual modules. The programming was immediately done after all this. The writing of the documentation was done concurrently with that of programming. Further testing was employed after the program was finished. This was done so that any unnecessary errors could be detected. From the project it was learned that the computer as a proofreader can not replace the accuracy and ability of a human proofreader. Further studies on the technology of artificial intelligence, especially knowledge representation should be pursued. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8133 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Language and languages--Orthography and spelling Linguistics--Data processing Computer programs Language and languages--Grammars Checkers File organization (Computer science) Spelling Language data processing Grammars |
