Description
Summary:This study is a descriptive research that aims to identify the qualities of a leader that makes them effective, and in turn, use it to determine the focus of the Leadership Training Proposal that would be designed for Midas-Kapiti, International, Manila. It also utilizes an applied research approach. Given that it is customized, the respondents were then taken from MKI and from their 84 employees. 30 were randomly selected. The researchers utilized the Training Needs Survey to gather the perceptions of those respondents regarding effective leadership and the qualities of an effective leader. The results shows that effective leadership is defined to be guiding others towards the achievement of a common goal and that qualities congruent to this are the following: being a good role model, having clear set goals, and being a good decision maker. However, the qualities that are present in the leaders of MKI were not the ones included in the top three. It therefore meant that the necessary qualities that was perceived to be a characteristic of an effective leader is not evident in their leader. Thus a leadership training proposal which was geared towards developing and enhancing qualities that would make them an effective leader was made.
