Summary:The dichloromethane extract of the air-dried leaves of Crassocephalum crepidioides, commonly known as redflower ragleaf, was studied. Secondary metabolites afforded from the leaves were as follows: squalene (CC4), lutein (CC3), phytyl ester (CC7), chlorophilide A (CC2) and beta-carotene (CC5). The major constituents of dichloromethane extract of the leaves of Crassocephalum crepidioides were isolated by silica gel chromatography. The structures of isolated compounds were identified by comparison of their 1H Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectral data with those reported in the literature.
