Lourdes Carmela P. Po, Lynn C. Sy, Michelle T. In determining the predominant life style themes and levels of depression-proneness of unwed mothers and female college students whose age group ranged from 15 to 24, two sets of questionnaires, the Life Style Interview Guide and Depression Proneness Rating Scale-11 were given. Thirty female college students came from two exclusive colleges, similarly, thirty unwed mothers either came from three institutions or were referred to by friends. The method employed was purposive sampling to ensure the availability of the subjects. With regards to life style themes, martyr , inadequate person , victim , need to be liked , opposed to everything , and getter were found to be the life style themes of unwed mothers and college students who are highly prone to depression. Opposed to everything was the predominant life style theme among unwed mothers whereas need to be liked was the predominant life style theme among female college students. The unwed mothers and female college students generally have average levels depression-proneness. Moreover, results showed that unwed mothers and female college students did not differ significantly in their levels of depression- proneness, having a computed chi-square value of 0.17 which is less than 5.991, df=2 and with alpha level set at .05. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8169 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Life style Unmarried mothers Women college students Depression, Mental College students
