Expectations and perceived desirable behaviors in relationships

This descriptive study investigated the expectations and perceived desirable behaviors of partners in Filipino relationships. Thirty (30) individuals, fifteen (15) males and fifteen (15) females were gathered through the use of the purposive sampling design. The study employed the personal interview method in gathering data. Themes were formulated from the participants' responses. Results show that contrary to common beliefs, men are more romantic than women. Both partners worked towards achieving a harmonious relationship through efforts like compromising and sacrificing. Friendship provided the foundation for a deep relationship. Women were discovered to have more expectations from their partners in the relationship. It was also found out that women are more practical and realistic in their expectations than men.
