Description
Summary:This study is a qualitative research, where the individual's generative expression during the early-late stage of adulthood (64-74 years old) among Filipinos were investigated and described. Purposive sampling was used, which was divided by gender (male and female) and setting (urban and rural). The results showed four types of generative expressions that were directed towards the family, community and themselves through productive leisure and spiritual involvement. It was indicated that generative expression begins within the self and further manifests within the extended self. As the individual becomes involved within each type of generative expression, the adults in the early-late stage of development would disassociate with their self-centered acts and are drawn to altruistic behavior towards the younger generation.
