In a large sense, migration is likely to affect our lives, individually and collectively because of their remittances. Monetary remittances have indeed become the most often-cited tangible evidence and measuring stick for the ties connecting migrants with their societies of origin. Since remittances play a central role in the economies of labor-sending countries and have become a focal point in the ongoing debate concerning the costs and benefits of international migration for employment. Migration has often generated flows of resources from migrants to their households of origin. Remittances can significantly increase household savings, facilitate the purchase of goods and alter the local income distribution.
