Music sense: A short feature

The lead character in our short feature, a composer, discovers that musicality is only improved when emotions run high - from raw excitement and pain in a romantic relationship. A composer's creatively and uniqueness is only fully explored at the height of his own emotions. It does not help that the main stress in an adolescent's life is usually provoked by interpersonal relationships... sexual coercion and deviance (qtd Erikson 187). Not to mention that career options for artists are becoming narrower. More so in the music industry where Record companies are mainly governed by a simple law of Profit and Loss (Desinoff 79). Now, problems in a romantic relationship coupled with problems in career can really cause even the best of us to snap. A single event may not be appraised as stressful, [but] the accumulation of multiple problems within a particular domain often leads to feelings of helplessness (Jackson and Finney 195).
