Silver nanoparticle synthesis via microwave irradiation

Preparation of Ag nanoparticles through solution-phase chemical reduction of AG metal salts via microwave irradiation. Nanophase Ag particles were synthesized using polyacrylic acid (PAA) and water as solvent. Experimental parameters, which include heating time, heating power, salt concentration, an...

Preparation of Ag nanoparticles through solution-phase chemical reduction of AG metal salts via microwave irradiation. Nanophase Ag particles were synthesized using polyacrylic acid (PAA) and water as solvent. Experimental parameters, which include heating time, heating power, salt concentration, and molar ratio of reducing agent to Ag nirate, were optimized in cases where Ag nanoparticles were successfully synthesized. The use of PAA and sodium borohydride (NaBH4) with water as solvent led to the synthesis of Ag nanoparticles in the range of about 10-100 nm. The Ag nanoparticles produced were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-Vis spectrophotometry. 2006-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8508 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Nanoparticles
