Nitrogen Dioxide is a toxic gas which comes from natural and man-made sources. Because of its harmful effects on human health and on materials, their is a need to determine its concentration in ambient air. A modified Griess-Saltzman reaction is use as basis for a simple and convenient No2 analysis via spectrophotometric measurement of the azo dye via coupling with N-(1-Naphthyl)-ethylenediamine. The NO2 content of air, measured between April and June 1996 ranged from 0.010 to 0.019 ppm, with higher contents observed during mornings than during evenings. These concentrations are lower than those established that produced adverse effects (0.063 to 0.083 ppm).Air samples were taken from Room 304 of Science and Technology Research Center, De La Salle University, Manila at different meteorological conditions.
