Ascalon, Mary Sandra V. Paloma, Krystel Grace M. This research study focused on determining whether assets and capabilities of NATO and the EU affect the roles that they play in military operations from 1999 to 2003. The authors believe that cooperation takes place between the two institutions when their assets and capabilities complement with each other. In order to test the groups hypothesis, three case studies were conducted to see whether the groups hypothesis would be validated. The three cases were three military operations wherein either the EU or NATO or both were involved in. The cases chosen were NATO Operation Allied Force, EU Operation Artemis and EU Operation Concordia. After the studies were conducted and the data generated from documents collected were analyzed, the groups hypothesis was neither validated nor invalidated. The group was able to show that cooperation took place in Operation Concordia. Complementarity as of the end of the study could only be shown on the series of operations that were sent to a certain conflict area in the studys case Concordia. The division of labor between the EU and NATO that the group advocated could be seen on the roles that each institution took in the operation where only one institution was involved. The findings of the study points that initial attempts of cooperation were a success and that cooperation would prevail in future operations. 2007-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8549 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository North Atlantic Treaty Organization Europe--Defenses
