Description
Summary:This paper is concerned with the study on the effect of the Mount Pinatubo volcanic sand when used as cement aggregate on the corrosion of the steel reinforcement embedded within the concrete. Filipino scientists & researchers have come up with various projects that could utilize the extensive supply of sand spewed out by Mount Pinatubo. One of these was the feasibility of using volcanic sand in the field of construction. In line with this, a study of the effect of the volcanic sand on the corrosion activity of steel was embarked on. The investigation was conducted using both Potential Measurements & Gravimetric Measurements.
