The present study identified the type of self-concept and locus of control among selected juvenile delinquents from National Training School for Boys (NTSB) and explored the probable relationship of variations in self-concept and age to locus of control. A sample of 52 subjects emerged as participants for the study. They were chosen through the purposive sampling technique. It included delinquents whose ages range from 12 to 18 and who are classified as partially adjusted in terms of institutional life. The subjects' self-concept and locus of control were determined through the use of the Pasao Self-Concept Rating Scale and Rotter's Internal-External Locus of Control Scale, respectively. The results of the study showed that delinquents from NTSB exhibit a positive self-concept. It also appeared that they have an internal orientation in their locus of control. Moreover, their type of self-concept appeared not to be conclusive in as far as determining their locus of control. This was based on the analysis of the data using the Phi-Coefficient 2X2 Tables. Finally, age is associated with their perception of control in the direction of increasing internality. 1992-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8765 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Self-concept Locus of control Juvenile delinquents Juvenile detention homes Psychology
