The age and gender differences were also investigated in relation to their separation anxiety and academic stress. The study was conducted solely around colleges and universities in Manila. A total number of 103 freshmen participants were asked to participate in the study. The tools used in the study were the Adult separation anxiety questionnaire, to determine one's level of separation axiety and the Academic stress scale to determine one's level of academic stress. Researchers used Pearson r correlation to look into the relationship of the following variables: separation anxiety and academic stress, age and separation anxiety, and age and academic stress. A chi-square test of independence was used for analyzing the data of the variables gender and separation anxiety and gender and academic stress. Results showed that there was a significant relationship between separation anxiety and academic stress in the freshmen college students.
