Tiwala is a short feature film about a typical old-fashioned Filipino mother, Esther, who has an exaggerated way of expressing her utmost faith. The 48-year-old mother of two has been doing rituals to strengthen the 'power' of her anting anting, which she says is a family heirloom that has been kept for numerous generations. Unfortunately for her, the precious anting anting suddenly goes missing on a night through the course of her daily devotion to help her daughter pass her exam. She meticulously goes around the house searching for it. When she realizes it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, she starts putting the blame on the people around her, accusing them of stealing her anting anting for whatever reason. The short film aims to show the contrast between the freshness of faith in children and the clouded, ritualistic blind faith among adults that are triggered by their environment. With this, the film will take a lighter perspective on the matter by exhibiting the narrative through a comedic manner. 2018-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8853 Bachelor's Theses Filipino Animo Repository Short films--Philippines Amulets Faith Communication |
