A study on corporate social responsibility and its relationship with the financial performance of selected Philippine companies

This research paper aims to determine the two-year bidirectional causality between Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Performance of Philippine Companies that disclosed their sustainability reports using the Global Reporting Initiative Framework. This study used multiple regression to establish the causal relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Performance. The findings revealed that Corporate Social Responsibility has a negative causal effect on Return on Assets and a positive causal effect from Return on Equity, which are both measures of Financial Performance. This paper contributes to the existing literature on CSR by presenting evidence on how CSR affects a firm's financial performance, and by providing readers a deeper understanding of the topic.
