Summary: | Globalization brought revolution in the manner of doing business. Since then, the corporate world has considered corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a significant element in their respective trades. In the course of implementation, management would customarily find itself trying to discover its relevance to the firms financial performance upon considering this idea, does CSR have an impact on firm profitability and marketability of shares? This study aims to answer this inquiry by taking into account the three dimensions of CSR (social, environmental, and economic) and its impact on the aforementioned hence, the study sheds light on the numerous effects each dimension has on various measures of financial performance. The data obtained were then analyzed through the panel regression. As a result, the researchers discovered that only the economic dimension has a significant impact on one of the firms measures profitability, namely, return on equity. However, the rest of the measures of profitability and marketability of shares exhibited similar results, and thus, are not affected by the three dimensions. Moreover, the overall effect of the dimensions does not have an impact on financial performance as well. |
