SEEDS HIPO/N-S is a front-end case tool which provides a mechanism to facilitate the construction of HIPO and N-S diagrams. The design of the system was made possible through the object-oriented programming discipline with its concepts of classes, objects, inheritance, encapsulation and the GUI design for the interface. Having a graphical and mouse-driven interface, SEEDS HIPO/N-S was programmed in Object Windows using Borland C++ 3.1. Since there aren't a lot of books on the subject, the debugging task during coding was difficult. In the final analysis however, the decision to use Borland C++ 3.1 with Object Windows was a good one since it minimized code size and contributed much in fulfilling the objectives of the project. The result of the acceptance testing was fairly good. All the respondents gave favorable ratings in terms of Graphical User Interface (GUI), VTOC editor and N-S editor. At present, computer science and engineering students who use the HIPO methodology to design and document their software do the diagramming manually. With SEEDS HIPO/N-S, this problem has been solved because their work is now faster, less tedious and less error-prone. Some improvements can still be made to the software. These are: improved displays and the incorporation of code generation. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8928 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Software engineering Computer systems Programming (Electronic computers) Computer Sciences |
