Jose, Alaine B. Magno, Joseph Kenneth Wong, Jermyn L. The solar energy conversion system is a device that converts solar energy to electrical energy by means of photovoltaic process. In 1993, Mr. Franklyn Bandolon and company, a group of Electronics and Communications Engineering students from De La Salle University, performed a thesis regarding solar energy conversion. They constructed a phototype of the system which consists of: (1) a solar module, which performs the photovoltaic process (2) a battery, which storesthe electrical energy produced by the solar module and (3) an inverter system, which provides AC output to loads connected to the system. It also includes an automatic tracking device that tracks the sun, so that, maximum light intensity is obtained by the solar module. Although the system that they built was able to meet its objectives, further improvements on the system were still necessary as recommended by the previous thesis group. This thesis present the improvements made on the previous solar energy conversion system, such as the application of a highly-efficient inverter system, the development of the tracking mechanisms and the extension of the system's usage rate. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8938 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Solar energy Power resources Photovoltaic power generation Energy storage Integrated circuits Automatic tracking Engineering |
