Description
Summary:The long-term performance of Cathay Pacific Steel Corporation was investigated in this work. The total percentage yield was computed to determine whether the company complies with the standard set by the industry. It was found that the company operates at a lesser yield than the industry standard (below 78%). The transfer from one machine/process to the next has an effect on the yield of the finished product. Pertinent computations for the yield, costs, and benefits are shown in this work. The last part of this work shows several solutions that could address the causes of the problem presented. It was found that the implementation of the said proposals is feasible and that it could generate benefits to the company. Overall, this work focused on how Cathay Pacific Steel Corporation operates with its current machines and processes.
