Description
Summary:The Gender Sensitivity Scale (GSS) was construct-validated using the contrasted groups approach. Since the androgynous person is assumed to be gender sensitive, the androgyny of the study's NGO members reputedly high in gender sensitivity, as well as the non-androgyny of the farmers known to be low in gender sensitivity, had to be established first. The convergent validation of the Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) was done for the establishment of the contrasted groups. The two groups were significantly different in gender sensitivity - f(1,57)=106.5766, p<.05. Thus, the GSS may be considered to be a valid measure of gender sensitivity.
