A study of the effects of sintering time variation on the superconducting properties of a Pb-doped BSCCO superconductor prepared by second combustion method

The effects of the sintering time variation on the superconducting properties of a Pb-doped BSCCO superconductor was determined. The samples were prepared using the second combustion method. X-ray diffractrometry and R-T tests were used to characterize the bulk samples. Using the LSUCR-87 program, a...

Ilustre, Suzette S. Monserrat, Omar O. The effects of the sintering time variation on the superconducting properties of a Pb-doped BSCCO superconductor was determined. The samples were prepared using the second combustion method. X-ray diffractrometry and R-T tests were used to characterize the bulk samples. Using the LSUCR-87 program, a tetragonal crystal structure was obtained for all the samples. For the low-Tc phase, the average crystallographic constants obtained are a = 5.37879 A and C = 30.98261 A. For the high-Tc phase, the average crystallographic constants obtained are a = 5.40713 A and C = 37.35328 A. These values are comparable to those obtained by Koyama 29 (a = 5.3960 A and c = 37.1800 A) and Maeda (a = 5.4130 A and c = 37.1000 A). The sample sintered for 30 hours has the highest percentage of high-Tc peaks. This is consistent with the R-T characterization results where the critical temperature is 103K. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/9116 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Superconductors--Magnetic properties Sintering Electric conductivity Combustion Lead Physics
