Summary:Primepack Technologies, Inc. is a company that provides integrated manufacturing services ranging from design and product development to prototyping and mold fabrication to mass production. They also provide plastic tray recycling/washing as well as a total back-end packaging solutions to customers who demand these types of services. All of these are developed within the framework of delivering one stop packaging solutions to all their clients. The company is located in 7D Mountain Drive, Light Industry and Science Park II, Calamba, Laguna, Philippines. The company envisions being a world class packaging solutions provided through showcasing quality through design and provide packaging products with efficiency, effectiveness and excellent service. The company's objective is to meet its quality standard rate of 99.39% for the year. During the period of October 2013 to September 2014, the company was not able to meet the target quality standard rate by 0.19% which resulted in a reject cost amounting to an opportunity loss of Php1,307,734.36. After evaluating the probable causes of the problem, the final causes include: the thermoforming machine's inconsistent parameter settings (42.37%) and defect on mold/plug (11.92%) tray orientation and mishandling due to man (11.7%) the punching machine's knife and PP board problem (7.8%) and the rejects from suppliers. The proposed solutions to improve the company's system include: incorporate temperature control device procure 3D printer to fabricate plastic mold/plug before final metal fabrication set standard for changing of tools procure fixture for stacking and hold quarterly meeting with suppliers. The computed net present value for the proposed system in five (5) years is Php3,587,058.96. While the annual net benefit for the proposed solutions id Php772,561.02.
