The company is the producer of popular products such as Mongol, Crayola, Higgins and Old Town in the country. The group performed a system study on AMSPEC, mainly concentrating on the Crayola production. The process of manufacturing Crayola is divided into six phases namely (1) Wax melting, (2) Mixing, (3) Molding, (4) Labeling, (5) Collating, (6) Packing. The group performed a thorough analysis on the present system of manufacturing Crayola, identifying it's strengths, weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and threats. From the evaluation of WOT-SURG, it was identified that the most significant problem that the Crayola section faces is that regular production output is not enough to meet the annual demand of the market and that it resorts to overtime to meet the deficit. Through the use of the Streamline Analysis and the Cause and Effect Diagram, it was determined that the real causes of the problem is the limited capacity and inefficiency of the molding machines. Identification of the causes led the group to come up with alternatives that would give immediate solution to the root causes of the problem. Effectiveness in terms of the increase in output and utilization. Feasibility in terms of cost and practicability in terms of implementation were the criteria used in the evaluation. The Kepner-Tregoe analysis was used to identify the best alternative. The Cost-Benefit analysis was used to verify the effectiveness of the chosen alternative. 1996-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/9157 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository System analysis Crayons Production engineering Industrial management Engineering |
