Ongco, Julie T. The proponents have decided to focus its study on Reynolds Philippine Corporation particularly its Extrusion Department. By means of the various problem analysis techniques relayed to us, the proponents determined the areas for improvement inherent in the company's daily operations. These are the production inefficiency of the department, high in-plant reject rates, low machine utilization which results to downtimes, high accident rates, expansion of the export market, implementation of GATT, and rise in the number of local competitor. After analyzing all pertinent data, and by using WOT-SURG analysis technique, the proponents chose the problem regarding the production inefficiency of the department based on its seriousness, urgency, resources, and growth as well as constraints involved in the study such as time and knowledge. The problem is stated as: The company experiences an average in-plant rejection of 8.41 % per month against the allowable rate of 5 %. The 3.41 % deviation results to an average loss of P 384,642 per month. After thorough analysis of the results, the proponents recommend that the proposed systems be adopted which is composed of centralizing the inspection policy, changing qualified casual workers' status to contractual, and modifying the existing handling equipment. By implementing the said proposals, the department is expected to achieve an annual savings of at least P 190 million and aside from this, with the change in the inspection policy, customer return may also decrease significantly. 1996-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/9160 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository System analysis Efficiency, Industrial Production engineering Assembly-line methods Materials handling Aluminum Reynolds Philippine Corporation Engineering |
