De Leon, Melissa Llamas, Ignacio Alfonso Samia, Gladys The group has decided to focus its study on the operations department of ASA Colors and Chemical Industries, Inc. Using the different problem analysis techniques acquired, the group was able to establish the areas of improvement that were elemental in the company's daily operations. This are the rejects that the company has been incurring, efficiency of young workers, the possibility of venturing into the international market, acquisition of modern machineries already available, shortage of raw materials and risking the customers goodwill. After thorough analysis of all the data available to us, and by using the WOT-SURG analysis technique, the group chose the problem regarding the returns the company was incurring based on its seriousness, urgency, resources and growth, taking into consideration the constraints in time and knowledge. The initial problem is stated as : ASA Colors incurs an average rate of 2.80 % reworks against the company's standard of 0.1 % to 0.2 % from July 1995 to September 1996. After a thorough analysis of the results, the proponents recommend that the proposed systems be adopted which is composed of the digitization of six (6) platform balances for the Technical Department, and keeping and making records of the viscosity and temperature values of past batches that were produced. Through the implementation of the said proposals, the Operations Department is expected to have a total savings of PhP 2,352,784,827.00 after five (5) years. 1996-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/9165 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository System analysis Operations research Production management Printing-ink industry--Production control Industrial engineering Engineering
