They are engaged in the production of different varieties of high fashion shoes for formal, office, school attire which they deliver to a pool of well-known boutiques. The proponents performed a system study on the production process of the company. After three months of observations, interviews, surveys, and gathering of data in the present system of production of the company, the group came up with concerns regarding the production process through the use of WOT-SURG analysis. The group used both Streamline and Cause and Effect Analysis to identify the main causes of the problem concerned. The problem that was identified by the group is about the unbalanced line which has a low efficiency of only 65.33% leading to unmet demand equivalent to a profit loss of P 19,019.00. Under this, the company experiences delays in delivery with penalty cost of P 16,100.00 and unmet demand of 765 pairs in 11 weeks, since it does not maximize its efficiency. Again, based on the Streamline and Cause and Effect analysis, the main causes of the problem was determined and that was low production output, unskilled workers, and uncomfortable working condition. The group came up with alternative solutions by which to solve the problem. Through analysis and simulation using Simfactory, the best alternative solution was chosen. The new system can produced 29.19 units with a given efficiency of 92.48% per day as compared to 24.33 units with a given efficiency of 70.96% per day. Given the new efficiency the company will now be able to increase production by 3.84 pairs per day resulting 169 pairs per week thus, meeting the demand. 1996-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/9172 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository System analysis Production engineering Assembly-line methods Industrial management Shoes Engineering |
