Cosmos Bottling Corporation (CBC) has been in operation since 1918 and this shows the longevity and staying power of CBC in the Philippine softdrinks industry. The industry itself is fairly stable and almost trouble free. The biggest worry of the company would be from the competition it gets from the multinational companies. Even with the strong competition, CBC maintains a 12% share of the market. The scope of the study is Line 1 of the production department of the CBC San Pedro Laguna Plant. The present system of the company was analyzed and the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threat were obtained. From these, the group used the WOT-SURG to get the biggest problem of the company and it was determined that the most pressing problem was the syrup outputted deviated by 11.72% from the syrup inputted which is 4.72% more than the 7% syrup loss standard of the company. Generating four alternative solutions, the group chose two namely, buying a new filler machine and the use quality control. This was chosen using the Kepner-Tregoe approach. The proposed solution would involve re-training of one inspector from the filled bottle inspection and the purchase of a new filler machine. This would cost the company approximately four million pesos with a pay back period of less than three years. The implementation of the proposed system would approximately take sixteen weeks or four months. For the recommendations of the group for future studies, it was recommended that the other lines of production be considered, especially line 2 since it has the same situation as line 1. The safety of the operators and inspectors of line 1 and the efficiencies of the other machines should also be looked into.
