Description
Summary:The use of touchscreens nowadays became very rampant in places where people usually hang-out-places like malls, libraries, hospitals, hotels and schools. One reason for this is that kiosks are user-friendly. One need not be computer-literate to be able to access information. The proponents believe that it could also be set up inside DLSU campus like the Chess Plaza, SJ walk, Accounting Lobby, Gokongwei Lobby, and the like. With these, students and visitors will have an easy access around the campus with just a touch of a finger on the screen. Organizers would no longer worry on labeling each post with an arrow sign to direct their guests to a specific place. This could also be very helpful on the part of the officers of the different organizations whenever they are going to have important activities. Every organization would be having their own page for announcements. An ordinary PC monitor will be transformed into a touchscreen. Sensors will be placed along the borders of the monitor's screen so that when the tip of the finger is pointing at a certain location on the screen, the sensors will detect the exact x and y coordinates of that point. The signal will then be transmitted to the CPU for the software to respond to the user's command. Its function would be the same as using the mouse or the keyboard of a computer. The only difference is that fingers are used instead of a mouse. One would not need a keyboard either because a pre-programmed menu has been done for convenience and easy access.
