Description
Summary:With the rise of issues on sex, we describe and determine what the ideas are of Filipino adolescents and the different motivating factors of sexual risk taking. Also, we describe and determine the different consequences, actual and preconceived, and different methods of prevention of Filipino adolescents. We also compared similarities and differences of males and females on factors, ideas and consequences. Using an informal interview to gather data, we interviewed 15 males and 15 females and used qualitative analysis. We found that different motivating factors such as intimacy, curiosity and peer pressure are some of the factors behind sexual risk taking of Filipino adolescents and differ in motivation such as curiosity for most males and love for most females. Discrimination and pregnancy are few of the actual consequences that most adolescents go through. Even though they know of the consequences adolescents still choose to engage in these behaviors and do not see the long term consequences of these actions.
