Summary: | STuB, the acronym for Smart Temperature Microprocessor-Based Controller, is a Z-80 based system primarily involved in the monitoring of temperature in a given environment. Its primary function is to continually check the temperature of a specific environment, compare this with the desired temperature level for the said medium, and then activate (or deactivate) the heater to adjust the temperature to its set-point value. The proponents of the study have found out that the best way to control the activation and deactivation of the heater is through the implementation of the Pulse Width Modulation theory through its software. The group would like to recommend that the STuB Controller be used for industrial and agricultural applications where the temperature is a vital factor that may affect the desired product output. One such application is prawn or tilapia culture where there are different temperature levels for the different stages in growth of the fish. Each stage in the development of the fish may be optimized with the correct temperature level in its habitat. Based on the group's objectives, methodology, recommendation and major findings, we therefore conclude that the STuB Controller, a Z-80 based microprocessor system is effective, cost-cutting, practical, and justifiable. |
