Description
Summary:The present study aims to determine the effect of music tempo and loudness on positive and negative emotion and physiological arousal. Two hundred students of De La Salle University-Manila were participants of the study. 2 x 2 Analysis of Variance was used to determine the level of positive and negative emotion and physiological arousal that is induced by music tempo and loudness. The results revealed a significant interaction effect of music tempo and loudness on positive emotion and a significant main effect of loudness on negative emotion. However, there was no main effect or interaction effect of music tempo and loudness found on physiological arousal. Soft music induces higher negative emotion than loud music.
