Description
Summary:Matrica is the story of a transgender beauty queen, her journey of self-discovery, and the trials she faces in order to win the crowns and the trials in life. The film explores the life of veteran transgender beauty queen Matricamae Matmat Centino and her journey and struggles in her chosen livelihood. It also sheds light on the polarizing effects of being a well-known figure in the world of local transgender pageants ( trans pageants ) and the polarizing effects that fame brings. Furthermore, the film documents Matrica's devotion to her family and to every aspect of her profession. The documentary shows clips of Matrica engaging in two pageants, one in Taysan, Batangas and another in Tayuman, Manila. It also features footage of her in her home in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija where she showcases her numerous awards from her years as a beauty queen. Additionally, there are shots of her engaging in her other source of livelihood, which would be her as a make-up artist.
