This is a case study to identify the desired elements of social orientation in the Assumption College of Davao (ACD) and to analyze the existing manifestation of social orientation therein as perceived by the administrators, faculty and non – teaching personnel (NTP), students, and other stakeholders such as the m.a. sisters, parents, alumni, and the members of the Board of Trustees (BOT). The expected result of the analysis is whether there are congruencies or gaps between the said desired elements and existing manifestations. From these results, a proposed development intervention to either strengthen the existing system of congruence or to close the identified gaps is formulated. This is a descriptive research employing a case study approach. A workshop participated by the members of the ACD was conducted for the purpose of identifying the desired elements of social orientation in the school. A questionnaire used in the study was constructed based on these desired elements. The participants of the workshop were representatives from the ACD faculty and NTP, administrators, students from the grade school, regular high school, Sunday High School Education Program (SHSEP), and college levels, and the other stakeholders like the parents, alumni, and m.a. sisters. The manifestation of these elements or lack of it were then determined through the gathered perceptions coming from the four groups of respondents. The findings of the study revealed that the desired elements of social orientation in ACD clustered around certain general criteria/categories which were: curriculum, extra and co – curricular programs, teaching methodologies and approaches, management and decision – making system, and other areas. For each category, the workshop participants identified certain desired social orientation elements. Among others, the following social orientation elements were commonly identified as desirable by the participants: join march/rallies and other mass mobilization activities, involvement in exposure 2004-09-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_doctoral/101 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1100&context=etd_doctoral Dissertations English Animo Repository Orientation Social participation Education--Philippines Assumption College of Davao Educational Leadership
