The study assessed the actual and desired elements of the organization of the college in terms of communication, team work, work group assessment, organizational relation, concern for people, conflict resolution, commitment, evaluation, ritual / socialization, and organizational change. The other elements analyzed were vision, standard, innovation and excellence, and the patterns of organizational culture as manifested in implementation from planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling. The social orientation of the colleges as affirmed by the members in the survey was compared with the desired and actual culture. The various sectors of the academic community served as respondents for the study. Out of 6377 employees, 386 served as respondents for this study. This was slightly higher than the sample size of 377 based on Slovinâs formula. Data were gathered through a survey questionnaire which employed a Likert scale and focused on actual culture and desired culture of and within the college, referring to the result from computer treatment of data where upper score of a mean for each item of questionnaire. The interviews conducted, following a ten question-interview protocol, were recorded on transcribed. The instrument was adopted from Harris (1992) and Schein (1989) for data analysis. Frequencies, percentages, means, and ranking were also used.
