The psychoeducation intervention was expected to enhance the quality of life of the participants in its specified domains. A modified method of N=1 AB design, with group intervention was employed in this study. Purposive sampling was used to identify six participants, five for intervention and one control. A psychoeducation program based on the themes generated through an FGD among persons living with HIV/Aids was developed an intervention. Quality of life was assessed at baseline and postintervention at 7 weeks later. Data analyses used descriptive analysis to examine differences in the outcome. Results show that the intervention program was effective in bringing about changes in trends of thinking, feeling and experiences, improved stress management, reduction in anxiety, depression and psychological distress, adherence to medical treatment, increased spiritual beliefs and enhanced functional level of quality of life among the intervention subjects. In comparison to the experimental subjects the control subject did not show any improvement. It was concluded that psychoeducation intervention programs enhances the quality of life of the HIV/Aids and improves their overall life satisfaction. The study recommends an integration of multidimensional approach of antiretroviral therapy, psychospiritual and psychosocial intervention in treatments and counseling the HIV and AIDS. 2008-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_doctoral/201 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_doctoral/article/1200/viewcontent/CDTG004431_P.pdf Dissertations English Animo Repository Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome HIV (Viruses) HIV antibodies AIDS (Disease) Counseling
