The effects of neuroticism on marital satisfaction as mediated by perceived stress and dyadic coping were investigated using separate models for husband and wife, and a dyadic model. Self-report data were collected from 203 couples in Indonesia. The results show that internal perceived stress and positive dyadic coping for males (husband) and females (wife) were the predictors of their respective marital satisfaction. Moreover, females marital satisfaction was affected by her spouses internal perceived stress. Males marital satisfaction was affected by his own level of neuroticism.
