This study investigated the relationship between five variables (age, type of perpetrators, family support, peer support, self-acceptance) and suicide-related behavior including other variables with likely intervening (aggression, impulsivity) and interacting (abuse severity) effects. Samples comprised of 53 female Filipino victims of sexual abuse between ages 8 to 18 who were mostly abused by blood relatives. The exploration framework was analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique with results confirming two hypotheses, namely, self- acceptance negatively correlates with suicide related behaviour and impulsivity significantly intervenes in the relationship between these two variables. Implicit in the results is the need for government institutions to go beyond granting safe havens to the victims. Providing victims with help by assessing levels of impulsivity, sense of self-acceptance, and suicide related behavior are essential tasks for attending counselors. Suggested recommendations for government hospitals and institutions in protecting and empowering victims of sexual abuse are discussed. 2013-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_doctoral/383 Dissertations English Animo Repository
