It compared the effects of three types of training intervention on the consideration behavior of first line supervisors. Sixty (60) supervisors employed in an electric utility company were randomly chosen and assigned to three (3) treatment groups and one (1) control group with fifteen participants for each group. The three treatment groups underwent emotional intelligence enhancement training, consideration behavior enhancement training, and a combination of an emotional intelligence and consideration behavior enhancement training, respectively. The control group did not received any treatment. Wong's Emotional Intelligence Scale (WEIS) was used to measure emotional intelligence and the leadership Opinion Questionnaire (LOQ) was used to measure attitude towards consideration before and after giving the intervention. The researcher developed a questionnaire to measure the demonstration of consideration behavior among supervisors as observed by their subordinates before, one month after, and two months after the intervention. Based on the results of the study, the following conclusions were made: 1) emotional intelligence enhancement training can significantly improved emotional intelligence but not the attitude towards consideration behavior and actual demonstration of consideration behavior 2) consideration behavior enhancement training cannot improve emotional intelligence, attitude towards consideration behavior and actual demonstration of consideration behavior, and 3) the combined emotional intelligence and consideration behavior enhancement training can significantly improve attitude towards consideration behavior of supervisors but not their emotional intelligence and actual manifestations of consideration behavior. 2005-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_doctoral/601 Dissertations English Animo Repository Emotional intelligence--Philippines Emotion recognition--Philippines Conduct of life Supervisors--Philippines Counseling Psychology Counselor Education
