In addition, 9 out of 29 non-accredited schools were chosen using the proportional random sampling. Subjects included 1,200 nursing graduates both from accredited and non-accredited schools. The systematic random sampling was used to choose 10 graduates per school year from 1982 to 1991. The study looked into the Grade Point Average (GPA), NCEE scores and board ratings. Likewise, the board performance of schools and national results of the nursing licensure examination were gathered. The study employed the descriptive-correlation analysis. Two way repeated measure design and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were also used.Findings revealed the following: 1) The national result of the nursing licensure examination showed a downward trend. 2) From the pattern of board performance results, 3 of the accredited schools showed no increase or decrease in ratings over the year, while 3 manifested a gradual decline. 3) The mean board rating results showed a decline. 4) The Pearson product moment coefficient results showed there exists no significant correlation between PAASCU accreditation and board performance. When taken singly, of the 5 areas of concern, only faculty showed a significant relationship (r=.885 p.05) with board performance. 5) With the five areas of concern, together with GPA, NCEE score correlated with board rating, only GPA showed a significant correlation (r=-.289 p.01 level), where r2Thus, when the board performance is viewed in relation to the nursing licensure results and the performance of the non-accredited institutions, the accredited schools showed a much better performance in the board examinations. Furthermore, board ratings of their graduates showed a significant difference with that of the graduates of non-accredited schools. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_doctoral/698 Dissertations English Animo Repository Nursing schools--Accreditation Universities and colleges--Accreditation Accreditation (Education) Nursing--Examinations, questions, etc. Nursing
