Summary: | This is an evaluation of the effectiveness of multimodal therapy on BASIC I.D. aspects of personality of drug dependents on methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), before, during, and after therapy. This research aims to answer the problems faced by drug dependents on Behavior, Affect, Sensation, Imagery, Cognitive, Interpersonal, Drugs (BASIC I.D.).The study used the intensive N of 1 design on the single case research design (Tracey, 1983). The research focused on five drug dependents who were admitted at Narcotics Command Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center. The ages of the subjects of the study were from 19 years old to 27 years old. There were two males and three females.Based on the Multimodal Profile Rating, four of the drug dependents improved on their behavior from major difficulty to mild difficulty. This was rated by the researcher and the counselee. One of the subjects achieved improved behavior from major difficulty to moderate difficulty.Based on Sack's Sentence Completion Test, the drug dependents were able to relate to their families and other people. It was concluded that multimodal counseling was effective in the treatment of BASIC I.D. of shabu users. It was a success in areas of behavior, affect, imagery, cognition, and interpersonal relationship. The researcher recommends (1) a follow-up treatment after termination of the counseling sessions, (2) inclusion of members in the process of therapy, and (3) cooperation of workers in the treatment and rehabilitation of drug dependents. |
