Part I used the descriptive narrative method by which the symptoms experienced by ten separated wives were identified and classified into the following dimensions: physiological, emotional, mental and behavior patterns. This helped to establish the baseline of the client concerns in the actual experiment and formulate the Client Personal Evaluation (CPE) to measure changes. Part II used the N=1 design, or the single case research design. The design involved pretest and posttest assessment one week, one month, and two months after the treatment for the six treatment clients and two control clients. Two clients were used for each of the treatment modality. The clients under study came from the parish of Sta. Cruz Church and Our Lady of Loreto Church, Manila. Initial interview for background information with the client was conducted. Clients were subjected to the respective treatments one week after the medical examination and the objective test. Process measures included recall or postsession interview, which was done immediately after intervention and the report of the positive and negative events during the sessions. Outcome included subjective and objective measures. The subjective measures were Client Personal Evaluating rating scale and the oral and written reports of the clients. Their significant others were either mother, sister or an aunt. Their reports were gathered a week, a month and two months after therapy. The objective measure includes Beck's Depression Inventory, California Psychological Inventory (CPI) and were administered before treatment and at the end of two months. Medical examination was conducted by a physician. Posttest revealed that the client had improved remarkably after treatment intervention. The result showed that clients subjected to treatment manifested positive changes in their behavioral, emotional, mental and psychological functioning. Positive changes were apparent only after treatment. The degree of client improvement as a result of treatment varied with individuals. Two months after treatment, the great difference shown in the scores between the experimental client and the control client in the posttest indicated the effectiveness of the treatment in reducing severity of the symptoms and facilitated readjustment of separated wives. The three techniques of Unconscious Reframing, New Behavior Generator and Personal Power Radiator were equally effective in reducing the problematic, physiological, emotional, mental and behavioral symptoms and facilitated readjustment of the separated wives. The Unconscious Reframing technique confirmed to be better of the other two based on the posttest scores. 1996-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_doctoral/764 Dissertations English Animo Repository Psychotherapy Separation (Law) Divorced women Neurolinguistic programming Adjustment (Psychology) Counseling Counseling Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy
