Description
Summary:This study identifies factors that predict the career success of senior executives in the top five commercial banks in Metro Manila. The Conceptual Model of Career Success developed by Judge, Cable, Bourdreau and Bretz, Jr. is modified to include new variables found in the literature search. The framework is an integrated model of career success that combined the individual characteristics and organizational characteristics.Sixty-three senior bank officers from the five banks participated in the survey. The profile of the respondents and the banks are presented. Regression models on objective and subjective career success using step-wise regression analysis are shown. A factor solution is included. The result of the study suggests that human capital, motivational and strategic variables are better predictors of an individual's career success. Demographic, lifestyle, family-work variables and organizational variables are not good predictors.
