Bioactive secondary metabolites from six trees of the family fabaceae (leguminosae)
A total of nineteen compounds are isolated from the six trees covered in this study.Four new cassane diterpenes 6B-hydroxy-vouacapen-5a-01 (CB33), 6B-benzoyl-7B-hydroxy-vouacapen-5a-01 (CB26) and 6B-benzoyl-8,9,11, 14-didehydro-vouacapen-5a-01 (CB 'isomer') were obtained from the DCM extra...

Summary: | A total of nineteen compounds are isolated from the six trees covered in this study.Four new cassane diterpenes 6B-hydroxy-vouacapen-5a-01 (CB33), 6B-benzoyl-7B-hydroxy-vouacapen-5a-01 (CB26) and 6B-benzoyl-8,9,11, 14-didehydro-vouacapen-5a-01 (CB 'isomer') were obtained from the DCM extract of Caesalpinia pulcherrima. Their structures were elucidated by extensive ID and 2D NMR analysis. CB22, a probable new furanoditerpene monoacetate variation of CB33, could not be fully elucidated due to its minimal amount and the presence of impurities. Four known compounds were also isolated namely, benzyl 2,6-dimethoxybenzoate (CB8), phytol (CB23), sitosterol (CB25), and squalene (CB36).The ethyl acetate extract of Pithecolobium dulce afforded kaempferol 3-a-L-rhamnoside (KM) and a 2:1 mixture of 1,3-glyceryl diacetate (KM3a) and 1,2-glyceryl diacetate (KM3b). Their structures were elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR analysis. |
