Summary: | Assessment of morphological, molecular and physiological features of the Vitex parviflora A.Juss. plant is crucial to understand the contributory factors to its nickel tolerance. Vitex parviflora was propagated for 24 weeks under controlled conditions and treated with varying nickel concentration levels (0 ppm, 1000 ppm, 5000 ppm, 10000 ppm and 21000 ppm). Vitex parviflora has a high survival percentage of 84%. Seven out of the 11 morphometric traits assessed namely, leaf length, stem length, plant height, number of leaves, leaf thickness, petiole length and diameter were significantly affected by the nickel treatments (p |
